The Fugitives

The Fugitives, established in 2007, have released four records, which have been nominated for multiple Canadian Folk Music Awards and a Western Canadian Music Award. Their previous album, Everything Will Happen, spent ten weeks on the top ten Canadian folk charts, and earned them a support slot across Western Canada with Buffy Sainte-Marie and an appearance at UK’s Glastonbury Festival. Their follow-up, The Promise of Strangers, is set for release on January 26th on Borealis Records.

New Christmas songs up on our Myspace!

Just a quick note to let you know that we have two new Christmas songs out. I know, I know - who cares about christmas songs?! They all suck, right? But we were invited to give some tracks to a great new xmas compilation out on Light Organ Records. We were surprised to find that not only did we really like the xmas songs we wrote, but we really liked all the songs on this compilation.

So, please - go listen! Our two xmas songs are up at our myspace:

Christmas Release and Folk for the Holidays!

Hey everyone, It's weird to be, like, 'Merry Christmas!' in November, but our two new original Christmas songs came out yesterday. They part of a compilation from Light Organ Records, which also features songs by Adrian (team triangle!), Nat Jay, We are the City, Cory Woodward, The Zolas, Adaline, and on and on and on. All amazing Vancouver independent musicians!

Check it out and download it here:

Also, on December 3, we will be playing the annual folk festival fundraiser for the Vancouver Folk Fest. Nothing we would rather support than that! And the line up is sick. Us, Hannah Georgas, The Sojourners, and Roy Forbes. Check all the details for the show here:
