The Fugitives

The Fugitives, established in 2007, have released four records, which have been nominated for multiple Canadian Folk Music Awards and a Western Canadian Music Award. Their previous album, Everything Will Happen, spent ten weeks on the top ten Canadian folk charts, and earned them a support slot across Western Canada with Buffy Sainte-Marie and an appearance at UK’s Glastonbury Festival. Their follow-up, The Promise of Strangers, is set for release on January 26th on Borealis Records.

The Fugitives play The Vogue in Vancouver

Hey! Thanks to everyone who came out to all the folk fest dates we had this summer. Brandon, Vancouver, Smithers, Hillside, Sunshine Coast - wherever you were, we had an excellent time! We're really excited to announce we are playing The Vogue in Vancouver on November 2. It's a triple bill with CR Avery and Wil. It should be rad. Both those acts are amazing. We are truly blessed and psyched to be sharing the stage with them.

You can get tix and info here: http://www.voguetheatre.com/detail.php?id=222

Until then!

Happenings

Hello all;   It was lovely to see many of you this summer at various summery festival type places, even if all of them didn't look quite so summery. We still had a ball. Hanging with the likes of Dan Bern, Joel Plaskett, Elliott Brood.. we could get used to this. We've just about exhausted the would-you-rather game, though. Wait, what? Never!! The Fugitives will be taking a little time for our members to focus on solo stuff-- Babs is composing pieces about animals with Fang and working with the symphony (!); Brendan is working hard on his novel (!) and also doing some touring; and Adrian just released a solo CD (you can grab it here ) and will be touring Eastern/Western Canada in Sept/Oct (his tour dates so far here, more to come).

We promise we'll be with you again soon so stay in touch.

See you soon, pretties,

Fugitives
